Winter Tour as Trustees visit projects

The winter has been a busy time for National League Trust trustees, as a number of projects received their presentation cheques for their recent grant awards. Chairman Brian Lee MBE and trustees Lord Faulkner of Worcester and Dennis Leman (PFA) travelled the length and breadth of the country to see some of the grant work being delivered by our Clubs and their charities.

AFC Telford United received a cheque for 50,000 – this funding represents a support over two years for their community sport and arts work in primary and secondary schools.

Barrow AFC have been running a successful girls football development programme for the last two years, and our grant of £13,000 was to expand their activity.

Gloucester City’s Community Tigers programme runs a number of programmes in their home city whilst the Club continue to play their games in Cheltenham.  This includes work with the Asian community and partnerships with MY:UK.  They received £39,834 over two years,

Poole Town have just started to develop their community work by introducing walking football.  Our grant of £3,573 will kick start this project.

Chester Community Trust are using a grant of £25,000 towards a community schools programme, where they deliver a variety of lifestyle activities from healthy eating to behaviour support.  Trustee Dennis Leman visited Saughall Primary School to see the project in action.

Chester Community Trust received a£25,000  grant from the National League Trust.
Saughall All Saints school benefitted from the trust’s work last term whn they took part in an Anti-social behaviour project last term.
