Wembley Under 11s Final Preview

The time has come, it’s the event that all of us have been waiting for. The National League Under 11s Cup Final takes place this Saturday at Wembley Arena ahead of the National League Promotion Final between Boreham Wood and Tranmere Rovers.

It’s been a competitive, exhilarating and long journey for everyone who took part in the National League Under 11s Cup this year. We had 42 boys and 34 girls teams entered, all representing National League clubs. The schools representing their clubs battled it out on the pitch in six regional tournaments and the North and South finals, before the top four teams came through, to accomplish the chance of playing at Wembley in the final.

For the boys tournament, we have Danson Primary representing Dartford and St Werburghs & St Columbas representing Chester. For the girls, Woking will be represented by Beaufort Primary and St Joseph’s Birkenhead Primary for Tranmere.

The Girls Final will kick-off first and will be followed with the Boys Final afterwards. When the final whistle blows, both teams from both tournaments will then make their way to the Royal Box to collect their trophies for winning the competition and for being runners-up.

Good luck to the four teams taking part this weekend and a massive congratulations for getting this far in the tournament. No matter what happens, it’s the taking part that counts and that also applies to all of the children and schools who entered from the get go a few months back. Thank you for making this journey wonderful, see you next year.
