Bath City Foundation book swap

To coincide with World Book day the book swap shop was a something the pupils and their teacher at St Michael’s Junior Church School, Bath came up with and then Bath City Foundation have supported it as a Premier League Primary Stars social action project. The Foundation wanted to give pupils somewhere where they could access books that didn’t rely on the school library.  Ownership of a book was something the Foundation felt was important rather than borrowing books from the library and never truly ‘owning’ that book.

The Foundation had some donations from the school, individuals as well as some help from Hazel at Bath Festivals to get it set up.  The Foundation hopes that it’ll be a lasting project that will continue at the school long after the current year four pupils have left and one that will positively impact the school for years to come.
